Temperature visibility after closing time
A manual log shows the temperature at the inspection time. Remote monitoring provides a history between checks and notifications when agreed thresholds are exceeded. We select solutions for refrigerators, cold rooms and freezers in catering, shops, pharmacy back rooms and storage facilities. Stored goods, temperature range and the response procedure determine the design.
Selecting the probe and measurement position
A reading beside the door can differ from one deeper inside the chamber. We agree measurement positions, range, accuracy, probe routing and calibration needs. Metal enclosures can weaken radio transmission: depending on site conditions, we select wiring, external probes or LoRaWAN with appropriate gateway placement. Existing-controller compatibility is checked before integration is confirmed.
An alert should lead to a response
The threshold, exceedance duration and recipient matter as much as the sensor. A brief door opening should not produce a flood of unhelpful messages. We agree delays, notification hours and email or SMS where included. Missing-data monitoring also matters, so that a communication failure is not mistaken for a normal temperature.
History and reports for the responsible person
A shared view helps compare equipment and review an event. Report scope and data retention are agreed with the site owner. Monitoring supports condition records, but a sensor does not replace procedures, required checks or staff action. DATPOL can combine monitoring with refrigeration and technical-installation support within the agreed scope.
Food cold-store monitoring supporting HACCP
For catering, retail and food warehouses, recording follows the client’s control plan. Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 addresses HACCP-based procedures within its scope. Monitoring supplies evidence; the system itself is not HACCP certification. Thresholds, checks and corrective actions follow hazard analysis and product requirements.
Quick-frozen food: instruments and records
Within the scope of Regulation (EC) No 37/2005, we account for recording and instrument requirements, references to EN 12830, EN 13485 and EN 13486, and applicable exceptions. Records are kept for at least one year or longer according to product nature and shelf life. These requirements are not automatically applied to every refrigerator or to medicines.
Complete implementation and maintenance
We survey cold rooms and products, select probes, check connectivity and install the system. Defrosting, loading, door openings and probe response are considered. Options include power status, local memory and secondary connectivity. Reporting, retention, min/max values and gap indicators are agreed before commissioning. We test notifications with staff and provide point documentation. Hardware, installation, calibration, SMS, communications and maintenance are priced separately.
Medicine refrigerators: a dedicated service
HACCP concerns food. For pharmacies and pharmaceutical cold stores, we offer a separate scope based on product documentation, applicable pharmacy rules and GDP where relevant. See the medicine-monitoring service below. Regulatory references concern Polish and EU project contexts and do not constitute a blanket claim of UK compliance.
Your questions answered
Must the installation be wireless?
No. Wired, LoRaWAN and mixed solutions are selected according to site conditions.
Can several refrigerators be monitored?
Yes. Each point is labelled and assigned to its equipment, with thresholds tailored to the application.
