When is LoRaWAN useful?

Where measurement points are dispersed and new cabling would disrupt operations, LoRaWAN is worth assessing. Compatible sensors send small data messages to a gateway connected to the system. The technology suits periodic environmental measurements and appropriately selected meter readings. It is not a replacement for every connection or a guarantee of instantaneous delivery.

Wired and radio connections can work together

An existing Modbus meter need not be replaced simply because new sensors are wireless. We select converters and gateways for RS485/Modbus, pulses, analogue signals and documented APIs. MQTT can carry data between systems. Protocol access, units, energy direction and point identities are checked before readings enter a report.

Coverage is checked in the actual building

Walls, basements, metal cabinets and refrigeration equipment affect radio propagation. Gateway selection follows installation conditions and communication checks. Battery life depends on the device, transmission frequency and operating conditions. The gateway needs server connectivity, for example through Ethernet or mobile data; sensors do not each need a SIM card.

Integration should produce useful information

We standardise point names, units and timestamps, and agree how missing data, delayed readings and device replacement are handled. Views, alerts and reports follow user needs. For energy in rented premises we offer Podlicznik; for temperature, humidity and other parameters we define an Opomiarowani scope. Technology follows the requirement.

Your questions answered

Can every meter be read?

We assess any submitted type, but confirmation requires an accessible interface, technical information and appropriate permissions. Compatibility is not promised without checking the model.

Can we start with a few points?

Yes. A pilot checks connectivity, data quality and report usefulness before expansion.
